For iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro

From frames to atlas.
And back again.

Sprite Sheet Studio assembles image sequences into PNG sprite atlases and splits existing sheets into individual frames. Preview the result, tune the grid, then export the images and JSON metadata you need.

What it is

One focused tool for a repetitive job.

Sprite Sheet Studio is a native app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, built for game developers, pixel artists, animators, and designers working with 2D image assets.

Use it to combine many source images into one atlas, or reverse the process by detecting and extracting frames from an existing sheet. The core workflows run locally and do not require an account.

Two directions, one workflow

Build an atlas. Or unlock one.

Import, preview, adjust, export. Both workflows keep the original artwork under your control.

01 / Assemble

Images → Atlas

Bring in individual frames, generate a power-of-two PNG atlas, inspect the arrangement, and export the matching metadata.

  • Drag-and-drop or file picker import
  • Transparent-edge trimming
  • TexturePacker and app-native JSON
Sprite Sheet Studio import screen for selecting images to assemble into an atlas.

02 / Split

Atlas → Frames

Detect a regular grid or individual frame bounds, refine the split visually, then save one frame or the whole sequence as PNG files.

  • Automatic grid and frame detection
  • Columns, rows, offsets, and spacing
  • Top-left or bottom-left origin

Built for the details

Enough control to trust the export.

Automatic detection

Start from a detected regular grid or independently bounded sprites, then take over manually when needed.

Lossless PNG output

Export atlases and individual frames as PNG files with transparency preserved.

Useful metadata

Generate frame coordinates in TexturePacker-compatible JSON or the Sprite Sheet Studio manifest format.

Native interaction

Use touch on iPhone and iPad or keyboard, trackpad, mouse, and drag-and-drop on Mac.

Private by design

Your artwork stays in your workflow.

Core image processing happens on your device. Sprite Sheet Studio does not require an account or upload your imported artwork to a Sprite Sheet Studio server.

FAQ

Good to know.

Need help with a specific file or workflow? Visit support or email info@spritesheetstudio.app.

What does Sprite Sheet Studio do?

Sprite Sheet Studio combines individual images into a PNG sprite atlas and splits an existing sprite sheet into separate PNG frames.

Which export formats does it support?

The app exports PNG atlases or PNG frames, plus TexturePacker-compatible JSON and Sprite Sheet Studio JSON metadata.

Does Sprite Sheet Studio upload my images?

No. Core image processing is performed on your device, and no account or cloud upload is required for the assemble and split workflows.

Which products are supported?

Sprite Sheet Studio is compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, and Apple Vision Pro. See the support page for current technical requirements.

Can I control how a sprite sheet is split?

Yes. You can use automatic detection or set columns, rows, offsets, spacing, and top-left or bottom-left grid origin manually.
