Common questions

Fast answers.

Does Sprite Sheet Studio work offline?

Yes. The core assemble and split workflows process images locally and do not require an account or cloud upload.

Which image formats can I import?

The split workflow explicitly accepts PNG, JPEG, HEIC, BMP, and GIF. The assemble workflow uses the image formats supported by the Apple system file picker.

What if automatic grid detection is wrong?

Open the grid settings and enter the columns, rows, offsets, and spacing manually. Use the preview overlay to check the boundaries before exporting.

Which metadata formats can I export?

Atlas assembly can export TexturePacker-compatible JSON and Sprite Sheet Studio JSON. The split workflow can export a JSON manifest with frame coordinates.

Can I export one frame instead of the entire sheet?

Yes. In the split results you can save an individual frame or export the complete set of detected frames.
